ELEVATION
Elevation is the height of land above sea level and this has a very important impact on biomes. The change occurs because the atmosphere becomes thinner at higher elevations, and heat is less retained when this occurs. Elevation affects precipitation, because when clouds filled with moisture rise and cool, then release rain or snow.
