OCEAN CURRENTS
Ocean currents are abiotic factors that are in constant movement affecting the weather. Ocean currents can help to moderate the climate. For example, these currents transfer heat from the tropics to the polar regions, influencing local and global climate, this heat keeps much of Northern Europe significantly warmer than other places equally as far north. Ocean currents are also important for food webs and reproduction of marine organizms and marine ecosystems.
